Street Break Dance

Street dance - Street dance is an umbrella term used to describe dance styles that were originally danced mostly at night clubs or outside in the streets, mainly because of their social nature that encourages performance and battles.

Funk dance - Funk dance or funk styles refer to dance styles that were originally danced to funk music. More specifically they can be used for a group of street dance styles that originated in California in the 1970s, mainly popping and locking.

Rivington Street (Manhattan) - Rivington Street runs through Manhattan's Lower East Side between Bowery and Pitt Street, with a break between Chrystie and Forsyth for Sara D. Roosevelt Park.

Texas Tommy (dance) - The Texas Tommy is said by many to be the first swing dance. The main reason being that during this period (1909), all the dances were done in "closed" position, this was supposedly the first modern dance of the time to include the "break-away" step (dancing in open position) while using the basic 8 count rhythm of swing dance.
